Introduction

The Country Specific Products extension allows you to configure your Magento storefront to allow specific products to be sold only in the countries of your choice. It also allows you toThis guide provides instructions for the installation and configuration of the extension.

Installation

1. Store Backup.

  • Go to System > Tools > Backups.
  • Backup your magento files by clicking on the button System Backup.
  • Backup your database by clicking on the button Database Backup.

2. Log out of Admin.

  

3. Unpack the extension file downloaded from our site and upload the contents of the file to the root directory of your magento installation.

  

4. Log back in to Admin.

  

5. Clear Cache: Go to System > Cache Management. Click on the Flush Cache button to clear all cache.

6. If compilation is enabled, turn it off under System > Tools > Compilation.

  • Go to System > Tools > Compilation.
  • Click on the Disable button to disable compilation.
  • You can switch it back on once you've installed the extension.

7. If you see a 404 error on your configuration page. Please log out of the admin and log back in.

  

 

Configuration

Go to System > Configuration > Catalog  > Country Catalog.

General

  • Enabled: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable the extension respectively. This can be done at a store view level. This is particularly helpful when you have a mutli store setup and want the module to be enabled only on a few stores and disabled on the rest of the stores.

Product Import Csv

  • CSV File: Click on the Browse button against CSV File to select a csv file from your local storage. Click on the Save Config button to import the csv with the product - country relations.
  • Csv Format: sku,countryId,zoneId
    • sku - product sku.
    • zoneId - can be found under Zone > Manage Zones.
    • countryId - You can use either the ISO-Alpha-2 or ISO-Alpha-3 codes.

GeoIp

  • GeoIp Database Downloaded: Synchronize GeoIP data by clicking the Synchronize button. Do not download the database to often, as that can lead to being banned from downloading the database for several hours.

Manage Zones

Zones are groups of countries that you can mostly use to group commonly used countries in a single group, so that linking the same countries to multiple products can be done by selecting just a zone, instead of selecting each country for every product.

To add new Zone, go to Country Catalog > Manage Zones.

  • Click on the Add New Item button to add a new zone and group countries.
  • Click on any new row you want to edit the particular zone.
  • On the Edit page select the countries that fall under the zone and save.

Link Products and Countries

Products can be linked to countries either using zones or an individual country. Go to Catalog > Manage Products

  • For a new product: Create a new product and save the product and thereafter follow the steps below for both new and existing products.
  • Go to the product edit page by clicking the row corresponding to that product.
  • On the product edit page, go to "Product Countries" on the left hand side menu.
  • Select zones or countries and hit save.
