Introduction

Hungersoft's Guest To Customer extension (for Magento 2.x) is developed for store administrators who want to easily turn their guest customers into registered customers. It can automatically convert guest customers into registered customers. Your customer will be free to place their orders as a guest and this extension will create an account for them automatically, or assign their guest orders to their already existing accounts (if email id matches).

Some of the most useful features of this extension are:

• It can automatically convert guest customers to registered customers after they checkout.
• You can assign guest orders to existing customer accounts.
• You can also assign order address to customer account.
• Admin can choose the default customer group for the customer accounts to be assigned to.
• It has a dedicated button to bulk convert old guest orders into customer accounts.
• There is a separate grid page for overview and mass-action of all guest customers.

Installation

Web Setup Wizard

Unpack extension files: Log in to our website. Download the Base Extension. Unpack the Base extension file downloaded from our site and upload the contents of the file to the root directory of your Magento installation. Unpack the purchased extension file downloaded from our site and upload the contents of the file to the root directory of your Magento installation.
Go to System > Web Setup Wizard.
Select component manager to install the extension.
Enable Modules: Click on Select link on the Base Extension row(Module Name: HS_All). Click the Enable button on the menu that pops up. Next, click on the Select link on the row corresponding to the extension you downloaded (Module Name: HS_GuestToCustomer).
Step 1: Readiness Check Click on the button Start Readiness Check to check you are running Magento on a compatible environment. Click Next upon completion of previous step.
Step 2: Create Backup Create a backup before you install the extension, by selecting the checkboxes against the Backup Options and clicking the button Create Backup. Click Next, upon completion.
Step 3: Enable Module Click on the button Enable.
You will see this page as your module installation is in progress. You can check for errors in the Console Log.
Module installation complete.

Configuration

Go to Stores > Settings > Configuration > Hungersoft extensions > Guest To Customer. Click on it to open its settings.

General

• Enabled: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable the Guest To Customer extension. This can be configured on store-view level if you have a multi-store setup.
• Automatically convert guest to customers: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable the automatic conversion of guest customers to registered customers. If you select 'No' here, your guest customers will not be automatically converted to registered customers.
• Assign guest order to existing customer: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable the automatic assignment of guest orders to already existing/registered customer accounts. If you select 'Yes' here, it will automatically assign the order to customer's account (with matching email id) even if the customer placed the order as a guest.
• Assign order address to customer: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable the automatic assignment address used in guest orders to already existing or automatically-registered customer accounts. If you select 'Yes' here, it will assign the billing and shipping address used in the guest order to customer's account.
• Default customer group: From this dropdown you can select the customer group to which the automatically-created customer accounts should be assigned by default. The list shows all customer groups available in your webshop.
• Convert old guests to customers: Using this button you can mass convert all your old guest customers to registered customer accounts. You can click on the button multiple times if not all guests are converted to customers in one attempt. This can happen when there are alot of old orders and the execution times out.

In Magento 2.x backend, if you go to Customers > Hungersoft Guest to Customers > Guests: You will see a list of all guest customers that are there in your store. From here, you can individually convert them to registered customers or you can select them all and then convert them all to registered customers in one go from Actions dropdown.

After installing this extension, you will also see a new 'Convert to Customer' link on list and detail pages of guest orders and their invoices, shipments & credit memo.

Using this 'Convert to Customer' link, you can conveniently convert that guest customer into a registered customer.
