Introduction

Hungersoft’s Default Shipping & Payment method extension allows store owners to pre-select a shipping method and/or payment method on Magento 2 checkout page.

This simple yet useful extension has easy-to-use features like:

• You can enable/disable pre-selection of shipping and payment method individually.
• You are free to choose which method will be auto selected from all available methods.
• You can also configure the logic for pre-selecting the fall-back method if the default one is not available.

Installation

Web Setup Wizard

Unpack extension files: Log in to our website. Download the Base Extension. Unpack the Base extension file downloaded from our site and upload the contents of the file to the root directory of your Magento installation. Unpack the purchased extension file downloaded from our site and upload the contents of the file to the root directory of your Magento installation.
Go to System > Web Setup Wizard.
Select component manager to install the extension.
Enable Modules: Click on Select link on the Base Extension row(Module Name: HS_All). Click the Enable button on the menu that pops up. Next, click on the Select link on the row corresponding to the extension you downloaded (Module Name: HS_DefaultShippingPayment).
Step 1: Readiness Check Click on the button Start Readiness Check to check you are running Magento on a compatible environment. Click Next upon completion of previous step.
Step 2: Create Backup Create a backup before you install the extension, by selecting the check-boxes against the Backup Options and clicking the button Create Backup. Click Next, upon completion.
Step 3: Enable Module Click on the button Enable.
You will see this page as your module installation is in progress. You can check for errors in the Console Log.
Module installation complete.

Configuration

Once the extension is successfully installed in your Magento 2.x store, you can find its settings under Stores > Settings > Configuration > Hungersoft Extensions > Default Shipping & Payment methods > You will see 2 tabs with titles ‘Shipping’ and ‘Payment’. You can configure each one of them individually as per your requirements.

Shipping

Enabled: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable pre-selection of a shipping method on checkout page. This can be configured at a store view level as well if you have a multi-store setup.

Auto-select: This dropdown will list all shipping methods that are available in your store. You can select that one method which you want to be pre-selected when a customer loads checkout page on frontend. Make sure that you select a shipping method which is enabled and popular. You can also select different default shipping methods on store-view level.

Fall-back method: You can use this dropdown to choose the logic for selecting the fall-back shipping method which will be pre-selected, in case your first choice is not available due to any reason. You have four options:

• None: If you select this, there will be no fall-back method selected by default if your first choice is not available.
• First method: If you select this option, the first available shipping method will be pre-selected on checkout page.
• Last method: If you select this option, the last available shipping method will be pre-selected on checkout page.
• Lowest price: If you select this option, it will pre-select the shipping method which offers lowest shipping rate.

Payment

Enabled: Select Yes/No to Enable/Disable pre-selection of a payment method on checkout page. This can be configured at a store view level as well if you have a multi-store setup.

You can select that one payment method which you want to be pre-selected when a customer loads checkout page on frontend. Make sure that you select a payment method which is enabled and popular. You can also select different default payment methods on store-view level.
